The Pyro Traveler form in Genshin Impact may finally give the game’s protagonist a good gameplay kit, differing from most of their previous versions. The main character for HoYoverse’s action RPG is the only character capable of wielding different elements – these powers are unlocked as they progress through their adventures in Teyvat and unlock resonance with each Nation’s reigning Elemental Type. Upon starting the game, players unlock the Anemo Traveler, and, being in Natlan, unlocking the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact should occur soon. This is the first time the Traveler hasn’t unlocked powers in a Nation’s first patch.
So far, the protagonist can wield Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, and Hydro, from the regions of Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, and Fontaine, respectively. Upon arriving in each Nation and interacting with a Statue of the Seven, the Traveler has unlocked each gameplay kit. In Natlan, however, something is preventing them from aligning themselves with Pyro. However, this is expected to change soon, and unlocking it may be related to story developments with the Traveler in Natlan. Leaks have indicated Pyro Traveler will become available in Genshin Impact 5.3, but little is known about their gameplay kit at the moment.
Genshin Impact’s Pyro Traveler Is Compared To Honkai: Star Rail’s Harmony Trailblazer
The Upcoming Version’s Power Level Is Compared To HoYoverse’s Other Protagonist
Now, a new leak about the Pyro Traveler has emerged, allowing players to have a grasp on what they can expand from their release. According to information provided by the leaker known as Flying Flame, which was shared in a post flagged as “Suspicious” on Reddit, the Pyro Traveler’s power level can be compared to Honkai: Star Rail ’s Harmony Trailblazer. This is not to say that they will even have similar abilities, but it puts the protagonist for Genshin Impact on the same level of gameplay relevance as the hero from HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG.
The Trailblazer is Honkai: Star Rail’s main character and, like the Traveler, they are capable of using different elements and playing different roles in team comps.
Why Genshin Impact’s Pyro Traveler Comparison With HSR’s Trailblazer Is So Good
Harmony Trailblazer Changed The Game’s Meta
Despite how superficial the leak is, the exciting aspect of the information is that the Harmony Trailblazer from HSR is extremely strong and, upon their release, they significantly changed the gameplay meta – and if the Pyro Traveler is anywhere near that, players may be in for a F2P (free-to-play) treat in Genshin Impact. For reference, the Harmony Trailblazer is a support version of the protagonist. They already had a support form via the Preservation Trailblazer, who operated as a shielder for team comps, but the Harmony Trailblazer operates as an active support who enhances the party’s power with their abilities.

Genshin Impact's Character Building Is Getting A Whole Lot Easier
Several new quality-of-life updates are arriving to Genshin Impact, and one of them is going to make building characters a much smoother experience.

With their skills, the Harmony Trailblazer can unlock a special gameplay mechanic called Super Break DMG, an enhanced version of the regular Break DMG mechanic. This allows the rest of the team comp to deal even more damage than usual, to unprecedented heights. The character has become indispensable in Break DMG team comps due to how positively they affect parties focused on dealing that type of damage to opponents. Their usage is somewhat limited in the sense that they cannot be used across all types of team structures. However, the Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail forever changed the game.
Break DMG teams were already somewhat strong, but the introduction of the Super Break DMG mechanic, which was entirely exclusive to the Harmony Trailblazer, altered the meta. Team comps with Super Break DMG at the forefront became a staple in endgame activities and, in some cases, were the only solution to some fights at higher levels. Even with the game’s attention shifting to follow-up attack damage, Super Break DMG continues to be among the best mechanics for team comps, and that is mostly thanks to the Harmony Trailblazer and what their introduction meant in terms of power level in HSR.
Genshin Impact’s Pyro Traveler May Have A Game-Changing Kit
The Character Could Finally Become Useful In Team Comps
With the comparison alone, it’s impossible to determine if the Pyro Traveler in Genshin Impact will also introduce a new mechanic like the Harmony Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail. The new version of the action RPG’s protagonist could unlock a new mechanic, similar to Super Break DMG, but it could simply enhance the power of already existing mechanics, regardless of what they are. The leak does say, however, that they will match the power level of the protagonist from the turn-based RPG, and that is sufficiently exciting, especially considering that previous versions of the Traveler have not been too useful.

Genshin Impact 5.3 Leaks: Mavuika Is Making Me Hopeful For The Game's Future, Four Years Later
There have been new leaks about Mavuika’s gameplay kit in Genshin Impact 5.3, and they sound extremely promising, even if four years late.
The initial Anemo Traveler is one of the poorest characters in the game, with abilities that are easily dispensable across all instances – both combat and exploration are worsened with them in the party. The Geo Traveler is something of an upgrade to the Anemo Traveler, but their powers still pale in comparison to other gameplay units. The third form, Electro Traveler, was an anticipated release, but their gameplay kit was never enough to justify their usage in team comps due to how weak they are. The Dendro Traveler in Genshin Impact represented the first usable version of the protagonist.
With their newfound Dendro abilities, the Traveler became a useful support unit capable of spreading the element on enemies for the rest of the team comp to trigger powerful reactions, including Hyperbloom, Burgeon, and Quicken, for example. Moving onto Fontaine, the protagonist unlocked Hydro powers, though the Hydro Traveler is a weak one with suboptimal DPS abilities that simply do not justify their usage in team comps. The hopes are that the Pyro Traveler will change the protagonist’s usage and make them viable for actual gameplay in Genshin Impact other than simply being the story’s main hero.

Genshin Impact 5.2 Leaks: New Nightsoul Trials Are Going To Take Your Skills To The Limit
Two new Nightsoul Trials for Genshin Impact 5.2 have leaked, and based on the challenges’ requirements, they may be the toughest in the game so far.
The leak should be taken with an extra degree of caution as the information could be incorrect or subject to modifications while HoYoverse works on the character’s gameplay kit leading up to Version 5.3 when they are rumored to be introduced. However, the comparison between the Pyro Traveler’s power level with Honkai: Star Rail’s Harmony Trailblazer does create some expectations. This could very well be the first good version of the Traveler in Genshin Impact, and if they match Harmony Trailblazer’s impact on gameplay, the action RPG’s combat could be changed for the better.
